  • 第5回インテリジェントホームロボティクスチャレンジでチームSOBITSが準優勝、Excellent Poster Awardを2件受賞

    Team SOBITS Takes Runner-up at the 5th Intelligent Home Robotics Challenge; Two Excellent Poster Awards

    創価大学で開催された第15回インテリジェントホームロボティクス研究会およびその併催競技会において、CIRoS関係者が3件の賞を受賞しました。第5回インテリジェントホームロボティクスチャレンジではチームSOBITSが準優勝を獲得。ポスターセッションでは、花嶋優作氏ら（崔研究室）の「i-Line HOPS：繰返し接触動作に耐え得るロボットハンド用触覚デバイスの開発」と、沖谷瑞保氏ら（萩原研究室）の「マルチモーダル人物概念モデルを用いた変動観測条件下における人物識別の評価」がそれぞれExcellent Poster Awardを受賞しました。

    CIRoS-affiliated teams and members received three awards at the 15th Workshop on Intelligent Home Robotics and its co-located competition, held at Soka University. Team SOBITS placed second in the 5th Intelligent Home Robotics Challenge, and two poster presentations — one on a tactile device for robot hands durable against repeated contact motions (Choi laboratory) and one on person identification using a multimodal person-concept model (Hagiwara laboratory) — each received an Excellent Poster Award.

  • 日本ロボット学会 第15回インテリジェントホームロボティクス研究会を共催

    CIRoS Co-hosts the 15th Workshop on Intelligent Home Robotics (RSJ)

    9月19日・20日の2日間、創価大学において、日本ロボット学会インテリジェントホームロボティクス研究専門委員会が主催する第15回インテリジェントホームロボティクス研究会が開催され、CIRoSが共催機関として本研究会を支えました。併催として第5回インテリジェントホームロボティクスチャレンジも実施され、全国から集まった研究者・学生が生活支援ロボットの研究発表と実機競技に取り組みました。

    On September 19–20, the 15th Workshop on Intelligent Home Robotics, organized by the Technical Committee on Intelligent Home Robotics of the Robotics Society of Japan, was held at Soka University with CIRoS serving as a co-host. The 5th Intelligent Home Robotics Challenge was held alongside it, bringing together researchers and students from across Japan for presentations and robot competition on assistive robotics.

  • 大学見本市2026〜イノベーションジャパンに出展「ノイズ環境で磁場を光で測る光ファイバセンサ」

    Exhibiting at University Fair 2026 – Innovation Japan: "Optical Fiber Sensor for Measuring Magnetic Fields with Light in Noisy Environments"

    国内最大級の産学マッチングイベント「大学見本市2026〜イノベーションジャパン」（主催：科学技術振興機構、8月27日〜28日・東京ビッグサイト南展示棟）に、創価大学理工学部生命理工学科の西山道子教授による「ノイズ環境で磁場を光で測る光ファイバセンサ」が出展されます。ヘテロコア光ファイバに磁性流体を封入し、光損失の変化から磁場を検出する方式で、0〜12 mT の磁場検出を実証しています。電磁ノイズに強く、大型モータ・電力施設・宇宙空間などでの応用が期待されます。

    "Optical Fiber Sensor for Measuring Magnetic Fields with Light in Noisy Environments," developed by Professor Michiko Nishiyama of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Soka University, will be exhibited at University Fair 2026 – Innovation Japan (organized by JST, August 27–28, Tokyo Big Sight), one of Japan's largest industry–academia matching events. The sensor seals magnetic fluid in a hetero-core optical fiber and detects magnetic fields from changes in optical loss, demonstrated over a 0–12 mT range. Its immunity to electromagnetic noise makes it promising for large motors, power facilities, and space applications.

  • 第1回センター委員会を開催

    The First Center Committee Meeting Was Held

    創価大学理工学部に設置された知能ロボティクス・センシング共創研究センターの第1回センター委員会を開催しました。センター員5名が出席し、センターの設置経緯と体制、規定に定められた主な事業、重点研究拠点および重点研究推進プロジェクトとの関係、今後の活動計画について確認しました。

    The first Center Committee meeting of the Research Center for Co-creation in Intelligent Robotics and Sensing was held at Soka University. All five center members attended and reviewed the center's structure, its principal activities, its relationship with the Priority Research Hub and the Priority Research Promotion Project, and the activity plan going forward.

  • STARポスター発表会を創価大学で開催（主催）

    CIRoS Hosts the STAR Poster Session at Soka University

    7月31日、創価大学にてSTARポスター発表会を開催しました。センター員が主宰する崔研究室・伊与田研究室・萩原研究室から計15件のショートプレゼンテーションとポスター発表を行い、ロボットハンドの幾何構造決定、大型船舶の接岸支援、VLMを用いたインタラクティブナビゲーション、オンボード画像マッチング、3DGSセマンティックマッピング、ヘテロコア光ファイバ触覚センサなど、拠点の研究テーマを横断して議論しました。

    On July 31, CIRoS hosted the STAR poster session at Soka University. Fifteen short presentations and poster presentations were given by the Choi, Iyoda, and Hagiwara laboratories led by center members, covering topics across the center's research themes — reconfigurable robot hand geometry, berthing support for large vessels, interactive navigation with vision–language models, onboard image matching, 3DGS semantic mapping, and hetero-core optical fiber tactile sensing.

    Foundation of the Society for Space AI Robotics (SAIRA)

    萩原センター員が理事を務める，一般社団法人 宇宙AIロボティクス協会（SAIRA：Space AI Robotics Association）が設立されました。この協会は、宇宙分野におけるAIロボティクスの発展を推進し、国際的な連携を強化することを目的としています。

    CIRoS Center member Hagiwara serves as a director of the newly established general incorporated association, the Society for Space AI Robotics (SAIRA). The organization aims to promote the development of AI robotics in the space sector and strengthen international collaboration.

  • チームSOBITSが世界大会 RoboCup 2026 に出場 — 総合13位・ポスター発表で世界4位

    Team SOBITS Competes at RoboCup 2026 — 13th Overall and 4th in the Poster Session

    6月30日から7月6日まで韓国・仁川で開催された知能ロボット競技の世界大会 RoboCup 2026 に、創価大学理工学部のチームSOBITSが出場しました。新開発の双腕ロボット「SOBIT HOME」を投入し、Human Robot Interaction Challenge で5位、総合13位、ポスター発表部門で世界4位という高い評価を獲得。チームリーダーは次年度ドイツ大会の技術委員会に日本から唯一選出されました。

    Team SOBITS, from Soka University's Faculty of Science and Engineering, competed at RoboCup 2026, the intelligent-robot world championship held in Incheon, Korea (June 30–July 6). With the newly developed dual-arm robot "SOBIT HOME," the team placed 5th in the Human Robot Interaction Challenge, 13th overall, and earned a 4th-place finish worldwide in the poster session; the team leader was selected as the only Japanese member of the technical committee for next year's championship in Germany.

  • 第16回子どもいちょう塾でロボット教室を開催

    Robot Workshop at the 16th Kodomo Icho-Juku

    大学コンソーシアム八王子主催の第16回子どもいちょう塾にて、センター員の鈴木彰真が小学生向け講座「作って遊ぼう！お散歩ロボット」を開講しました。申込開始からわずか1分で定員が埋まる人気講座となりました。

    At the 16th Kodomo Icho-Juku (University Consortium Hachioji), CIRoS member Akimasa Suzuki taught a robot-building class for elementary school students, which filled to capacity within one minute of registration opening.

    Featured in Town News: SOBITS Heads to the RoboCup 2026 World Championship

    地域紙タウンニュース（八王子版）にて、6月30日から韓国・仁川で開催される RoboCup 2026 世界大会に出場するチームSOBITSが紹介されました。4年をかけて開発した双腕型移動マニピュレータ「SOBIT HOME」で世界5位以内を目指します。

    The local paper Town News (Hachioji edition) featured Team SOBITS ahead of the RoboCup 2026 world championship in Incheon, Korea, with the dual-arm mobile manipulator "SOBIT HOME" aiming for a top-5 finish.

  • チームSOBITSが RoboCup Japan Open 2026 で複数の賞を受賞

    Team SOBITS Wins Multiple Awards at RoboCup Japan Open 2026

    創価大学理工学部の3研究室からなるチームSOBITSが RoboCup Japan Open 2026（4月24日〜27日）に出場し、参加した全カテゴリで入賞。@Space Challenge 優勝を含む計8つの賞を受賞し、6月に韓国・仁川で開催される世界大会 RoboCup 2026 への出場が決定しました。

    Team SOBITS, formed by three laboratories of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, placed in every category it entered at RoboCup Japan Open 2026 (April 24–27), winning the @Space Challenge and eight awards in total, and qualified for RoboCup 2026 in Incheon, Korea.
